There are a host of pocket-friendly eateries in and around Kamlanagar that make Delhi University’s North Campus a food lover’s paradise. However, I am mentioning only three of them, more specifically the ones that I frequented almost on a daily basis, during my student days there:
1. Momo’s Point:
Everything looked so appetizing there. Every time I had a meal there, I walked out of the restaurant feeling good. Literally, the best momos you will ever have and at a cheap rate too. However during my last semester there, it was shut down or may be it got relocated. I don’t know if they are still operating.
2. DSE Canteen
It was once Indian Coffee House, though, for nearly 22 years now, the kitchen is being managed by two employees of the erstwhile coffee house. Don’t miss the mutton cutlet, mutton dosa and cold coffee here. They also serve thali which is reasonably priced at just twenty five rupees. The only downside is that it is always crowded and you might not find a seat for yourself.
3. Tom Uncle’s Maggi Point
I can say this with utmost certainty that the menu they have on offer is the most extensive noodles menu ever, anywhere. And its not just that. Their menu also includes different types of pasta and macaroni plus a host of beverages. Its a fun place to be, for all university students. And if you are still wondering as to what’s so good about a roadside eatery, have a snack there.
4. Chacha ke chole bhature
They serve amazing aloo stuffed bhature with chole. It was my staple breakfast during MBA. There will always be a long queue outside their shop, and they serve only in morning.
5. Big Yellow Door
This place is known to everyone who lives around North Campus. The place gets open early in the morning till late night. The place is small but the food and ambience makes up for it.
Total Bliss for Students of North Campus. What more can you ask for?
